Reiker shoes are known as the antistress shoes because over the years its reputation as one of the leading footwear manufacturer in the world has been recognised, because they have specialised to produce the most comfortable shoes to be worn on, with their integrated Antistress system combined within the shoes. In 1874 Herr Heinrich Rieker opened the first factory but when he died, his three sons Ernst, Heinrich Jr. and Karl inherited the company which was at that time located in Tuttlingen, near the German Black Forest.
Over the years as the company gained more popularity and grew stronger financially, by 1924 they had over 1000 employees which doubled by 1964. As the company was an orientated family business ever since the birth of the first factory in Tuttlingen Germany, it passed on to and remained under the care of Markus Rieker in 1975. Since Markus Rieker was now in charge and took control of the whole operation, he led the company from strength to strength and as a result became one of the strongest and one of the most famous footwear brands in the world.
Rieker Antistress is currently undergoing rapid growth throughout the world - it operates its fully vertically integrated operations in 62 countries around the world and is one of the largest shoe manufacturers in Europe. As the company is economically strong it has over the years opened eight new factories around the world and keeps producing the finest quality Rieker shoes to meet demands because it is currently producing over 50,000 pairs per day, soon rising to 70,000 pairs per day because of constant demand from shoe retailers and consumers. Development of new collections takes place at the original factory and the headquarters for the Rieker holdings company is based in Reiden Switzerland.
